Testing for Allergies
Diagnosing an allergy most often involves checking to see if your body has made IgE (immunoglobulin E) antibodies to a potential allergen. Typically, an allergist will go over your symptoms and medical history and perform skin or blood tests to diagnose an allergy. Traditional skin testing for an allergy introduces a small amount of a substance into the skin through a prick or abrasion to see if an allergic reaction occurs. Traditional blood testing involves checking to see if your blood contains antibodies to a potential allergen.
The method of choice we use at our clinic to detect food allergies and sensitivities is Kinesiology, using the O’Ring Method. Applied Kinesiology is a modality that can assess body dysfunctions and their underlying causes with great sensitivity and accuracy. It is a safe, accurate, non-invasive and painless method which does not expose you to the actual allergen.
BIO-DIGITAL O-RING TEST METHOD (BDORT) is a non-conventional bio-energetic method, developed from older forms of muscle testing, which in turn grew out of Kinesiology Muscle Testing.
BDORT was developed by Dr. Yoshiaki Omura MD., Sc.D. in 1977 while trying to measure brain circulation and temperature differences in active brain hemispheres, pathological tenderness and grasping force. It is a quantum medicine method, based on the resonance of electromagnetic waves, a phenomenon that was discovered by Mihajlo Pupin.
This technique tests the muscle strength before and after exposure to a potential allergen. A particular muscle is isolated and exposed to a specific substance’s energetic properties to determine either a positive or negative response. A weakness in the indicator muscle reveals a disruption in the energy flow and therefore the presence of a stressor. An increase of strength in the indicator muscle confirms the body’s ability to process the substance being tested. This technique can also be used to determinate dosages for supplements, herbs, or vitamins.
Unlike the traditional allergy testing methods, muscle testing does not require that we observe an actual allergic response. It can identify allergies whose effects are not directly observable.

How long does the consultation and test take?
The Allergy Food Evaluation is very quick, but you should allow between 1 1/2 for the entire process. This allows time for an initial consultation where we will record thorough a case history to inform us of any health problems or concerns you have. Time will also be needed after the test to explain the findings, to run any further tests if required and to discuss recommended treatment with you.
We will e-mail you a report the next day. The evaluation is not a treatment device; nor is it intended to make a medical diagnosis to replace medical intervention.

How much does it cost?
The rate per visit is $95 per hour. The fee is adjusted appropriately if you need more or less time for testing
and treatment. The cost includes the consultation, O Ring tests, and a personalized treatment. The price also includes support between appointments, via email or phone, if needed. Prices do not include supplements.and treatment.
Our body is a powerful instrument for communication. Based on the concept of internal energy fundamental to TCM (traditional Chinese medicine), kinesiology responds and operates through interactions among the mind, autonomic nervous system, muscles, and the subconscious mind. How many treatments do I need to get rid of my allergic reactions?
After the initial consultation, we will have an idea how many treatments you will need, depending upon the number of specific allergies, and the overall intensity of the allergic and immune system condition. Ultimately the number of treatments is up to the patient’s goals, schedule and finances.
One allergen is treated at a time. If you are relatively healthy, about 90% of the time one treatment will desensitize your allergy.
A person with severely immune deficient with a strong reaction to the allergen may need to be retreated for the same substance, but typically we only need to treat once for each allergen substance. If you are highly sensitive to a particular allergen, it may take more than one visit to clear.
Our integrative, holistic approach to allergy treatment is usually sufficient, but sometimes there may be an underlying disturbance contributing to the body's tendency to overreact. We then seek to identify the root causes of allergies by looking at possible sources of toxicity and weakness. We treat the issues that may contribute to the allergic reaction.
A friend or family member may join you if you would like. Questions are always welcome. Most people are pleasantly surprised at how easy, and non-invasive the treatments are.
Will I need further appointments?
We recommend follow up appointments. Healing often occurs in layers, and once one layer is treated, the next can be addressed. It is usual for clients to have a follow-up appointment 2-3 weeks after their first consultation to monitor progress.
Further appointments are individual and will depend on your needs and your test findings.
What is the treatment of desensitization?
Once the allergens have been identified, we can develop a multi-faceted treatment program to eliminate your allergies based on your constitution, needs, and finances. At our clinic we use an integrative approach to natural healing of allergies that includes Traditional Oriental Medicine, Acupressure, NAET (nambudripad allergy elimination technique), EFT (emotional freedom technique), Applied Kinesiology or Neuromuscular Sensitivity Testing, with Nutritional Sciences.
